"FANTASTIC PAGE-TURNER...

Unexpected plot twists and turns that make your head spin. High finance. Low morals. Tips for aspiring secret service personnel on how to get rid of a troublesome head of state. What more could you want in a novel of the 'out-of-control' era? Another fantastic page-turner from Peter Gray."

"SIMPLY SCINTILLATING...

Among thrillers, The Deepest Cut is simply scintillating. Just when I think he can't possibly keep the quality up, Gray exceeds expectations from earlier novels in the Charlie Robertson series. The Deepest Cut is as polished as are his rare pink diamonds."

"HIGHLY INVENTIVE STORYTELLER...

I really enjoyed reading The Deepest Cut. As with previous Charlie Robinson books, this latest in the series doesn't fail to please. Peter Gray is a highly inventive storyteller, taking the reader on many twists and turns once again, such that you will enjoy the book from start to finish. I loved the way that the author finished the book with the Acknowledgements from the main character, which gives a little hint of what is to come in the next book."

"A MASTERPIECE...

The Deepest Cut, the latest novel of Peter Gray's Charlie Robertson Series, is a Masterpiece. He takes the reader on a roller coaster ride of international espionage, tragedy and sacrifice entwined with Scottish family heritage. His chosen characters display traits of greed, deceit and brutality opposite to the true feelings of a family's love for one another. A must-read!!!"

Mike Thomas, Australia, 5 Star Review

"OMG. I CAN'T PUT THE DEEPEST CUT DOWN...

I thoroughly enjoyed The Deepest Cut to the point that no housework was done once I started reading. Your storytelling along with the way you bring your characters alive is truly amazing.

A superb book, can't wait for the next one. Thank you for the whole experience."

"AN EXTRAORDINARY ACHIEVEMENT...

Just when I thought that I knew all about Charlie Robertson, up pops another thrilling episode in his larger than life, life!! Ambition and success have come with costs though, and in The Deepest Cut, Charlie is on a relentless quest for safety and survival for himself, his family and friends. Fast paced and full of surprises and intrigue, we are taken into the depths of Scottish history and all its dramas. Sometimes I wondered whether it was all worth it for Charlie…..wealth and lifestyle but little peace of mind as he continues to ride a roller-coaster of highs and lows and near death experiences.

From the moment I took hold of The Deepest Cut (and the previous books), I thought this is an Author who really cares about his readers and takes pride in his work. The Deepest Cut presents so professionally...high quality cover, paper, pages, formatting, layout and visuals as well as very helpful detail like maps, historical context, character lists and the poignant little quotes beneath each Chapter heading… real little gems. I loved the quotes from Macbeth and Stephen Fry! Tight, succinct Chapters suit my reading style too.

This all suggests to me that the Author expects an intelligent readership, evident in the care taken to be accurate about all manner of inclusions, be it fashion, restaurants, locations, architecture, technology, weaponry, history, automobiles, mining and so on. The research, detail and minutiae give weight and authenticity to the writing….. an intelligent reader’s writer!  The mundane and the complex are combined with accuracy, and then there are links to the videos, website and YouTube on the back cover, which are so professional and stimulating. The Author has really honed his craft with complex plot and action with a fertile imagination that seems to have reached new peaks in The Deepest Cut with a great ability to “inhabit” his characters.

I have enjoyed all the Charlie Robertson thrillers, in part, because of the intricate plots, setting, characters, conflict, international flavour, surprise and intrigue.  Mostly, I am very impressed by the Author’s commitment and creative mind. The books are an extraordinary achievement both individually and as a saga."

"STRAP IN AND HOLD ON...

Strap in and hold on for a fast ride in a suave machine that is "The Deepest Cut", the fifth instalment of Peter Gray's Charlie Robertson saga. Set largely in the remote Scottish Highlands, this book has all you could want in a thriller—Russian assassins, dirty money, fast cars, explosions, political intrigue, sexy women, and unexpected plot twists. Arguably Gray's best so far, The Deepest Cut is a page-turner of the highest order. You won't be disappointed. Can't wait for Part 6!"

"WOULD MAKE A GREAT MOVIE...

Another well-researched and interesting story in the Charlie Robertson series. The book is well written with an imaginative storyline that flows seamlessly. Full of interesting facts dispersed with suspense and surprises that keep the reader continually engaged. This, and the previous books in the series, would make great movies."

"A TRULY REMAKABLE SAGA...

This is the fifth book in the Charlie Robertson series. I remember when the second book ‘Brilliant Cut’ was published, I could hardly wait to read it as I enjoyed Peter Gray’s first book ‘Rough Cut’ so much. I remember thinking that it will be enjoyable but it can hardly be as good as the first book, how wrong I was, it was superb! We are now on book five, The Deepest Cut and Peter Gray has maintained the seemingly impossible high standard through all five books which shows him to be a absolute master of his literary craft.

The Deepest Cut is a book that has all the intrigue and fast-paced plotting of the previous books in the series, it is easily read as a sequel and also as a ‘stand-alone’ thriller. A common thread through Peter’s books is descriptive technical content which never strays into the scientifically incomprehensible and thus never bores. All themes revolve around Charlie Robertson, his family and his businesses yet the storylines are never guilty of repetition or historical inaccuracies which is a remarkable feat in itself.

Chapters are headed by interesting explanatory headers that are brief and lead the reader comfortably into each chapter. Collectively, these are books that are very difficult to put down as the intrigue level keeps the reader wanting more and then…more!

Reading Peter Gray’s outstandingly written Charlie Robertson books has been a total pleasure and one can only dare hope that there will be more to follow in this truly remarkable saga which I would unhesitatingly recommend to all who enjoy intrigue, adventure and technical gems."

"LOVED IT...

I completed reading The Deepest Cut this week and loved it.  The research and attention to detail is self-evident and I really enjoyed the complex fabric of the plot with the surprises that pop up along the way.  In a macabre kind of way I enjoyed being drawn into the fight of good versus evil which is so relevant to current geopolitics and it’s nice to know that although dark forces lurk in unusual places and luxury hotels, the good guys usually win.  The coordinated and imaginative ways that the good guys adopt to track and dispense with unwelcome villains was also a surprise.  This episode is even more impressive than the last and on a positive note, Clan Robertson will go on to fight another day."
